CENTRAL SAANICH, B.C. — Shoreline Medical Society is inviting the community to come together and participate in its 2025/26 fundraising campaign, Building Primary Care Together. The campaign will officially kick off with Glow Together, a free, family-friendly light-up celebration featuring hot chocolate, marshmallow roasting, and festive fun as the community gathers to flick the switch and light up a trail in Centennial Park for the season. The illuminated trail will remain up through the end of January, symbolizing how the community shines brightest when it works together to support local care.

The Building Primary Care Together campaign aims to raise $500,000 by March 2026 to help Shoreline protect the care we have today and expand for tomorrow. Funds will help grow space and workforce capacity so more people can access care close to home, while also supporting essential services Shoreline physicians provide to the broader community — including maternity, long term care, youth, palliative, and hospital care.
Shoreline Medical Society is a non-profit, registered charity that operates two primary care clinics and the Saanich Peninsula Youth Clinic, which provides free, confidential, and inclusive mental, physical, and sexual health services for young people, ages 12-24 years. It is the only service of its kind on the Peninsula and is funded almost entirely through grants and community donations.
The campaign builds on Shoreline’s new 2025–2028 Strategic Plan, which outlines a vision for sustainable, team-based, people-centred primary care, and includes planning for a third clinic to serve even more patients in the years ahead. The plan reinforces Shoreline’s commitment to keeping care public, local, and accessible for all.
“The health of our community depends on strong, local primary care,” says Leslie Keenan, Executive Director of Shoreline Medical Society. “Together, we can build the capacity and connections our region needs.”
Community members, business sponsors, and matching donors are invited to join the campaign. Sponsorship will be recognized through a range of channels for the duration of the campaign and throughout the year, celebrating those who help light up the park and build a healthier future for the Saanich Peninsula.
