Shoreline Medical Launches Peninsula’s First-Ever Pickleball Tournament

SIDNEY, BC – The Saanich Peninsula’s first-ever pickleball tournament is coming to Centennial Park this September, bringing together community, competition, and local healthcare fundraising in one action-packed weekend.

Shoreline Medical is excited to announce the inaugural Shoreline Pickles for Patients Charity Classic, taking place September 18–20, 2026, at the Multi-Sport Box in Centennial Park, Central Saanich.

Hosted in partnership with Court Crushers, who will professionally manage tournament operations, the event will welcome players of all skill levels for a weekend of friendly competition, connection, and fundraising in support of local healthcare.

Proceeds from the tournament will help Shoreline Medical strengthen and expand primary and physician hospital care on the Saanich Peninsula, improving access and continuity of care for local residents.

In addition to tournament play, attendees can enjoy a community barbecue, snacks, and other activities throughout the weekend, with additional entertainment and social events still being planned.

“This event brings together some of Shoreline’s favourite things: community, physical activity, and a beautiful outdoor space that everyone can access and enjoy,” said Sarah Riddell, Executive Director of Shoreline Medical. “The Peninsula has always shown up when healthcare needs support, and we’re excited to create an event that brings together residents, players, volunteers, and local businesses in support of a healthier future.”

Pickleball is Canada’s fastest growing recreational activity, seeing explosive growth across all demographics over the last five years

“We are overdue for a tournament of this kind here on the Peninsula,” said Brad Watson, Past President of the Saanich Peninsula Pickleball Association. “The fact that it’s bringing people together in support of Shoreline Medical Society makes it even better. It’s a great opportunity to showcase the sport, connect with old and new friends, and support healthcare close to home.”

Tournament registration opens July 21, 2026, at 6:00PM PDT
