Important Information for patients of Dr. Lewis

To the valued patients of Dr. Andrea Lewis:

To My Dear Patients,

After lengthy consideration, I have made the decision to retire from my family practice in January 2024. It has been an honor to care for you, many of whom I have known for over 25 years. I will truly miss connecting with you, and feel very privileged that you have entrusted me with your joys and your hardships along the way.

I have mixed feelings about my departure. I am saddened to be leaving. It has been an incredible journey being a part of your lives, watching multigenerational families grow over the years. The nature of working in our smaller and incredibly supportive community has allowed me to provide continuity of care in the clinic, in patient’s homes and at the Saanich Peninsula Hospital, and I will truly miss this. But I am also excited to start a new chapter of my life, with a “part time” focus on palliative medicine, and the opportunity to spend more time with my family. I look forward to slowing down a little, and maybe to pursue my love of adventure travel a little more.

I am very pleased to announce that Dr. Ade Ibikunle will initially be taking over all of my patients, acknowledging that my practice is large and complex. We have already planned locum support for Dr. Ade during the first few months to secure a smooth transition. To best support Dr Ade moving forward, we are actively recruiting an additional doctor, and once that is secured, the care of some of my patients will be transferred to this new doctor to ensure better sustainability and access to care.

Dr. Ade Ibikunle has already been working at Shoreline for 4 months, which I am confident will make this transition of care a smooth one. I feel very lucky to have this opportunity to pass my practice on to such a capable and experienced clinician. To help familiarize you with Dr. Ade, please read her mini-biography below.

I wish all of you health and happiness. It has been such an amazing pleasure being involved in your care over the years.

Warmly,
Dr. Andrea Lewis
