Antony Gagnon graduated from with a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from the Universite de Montreal in 1985. He completed a residency in hospital pharmacy at the Ottawa General Hospital in 1986 and a post-graduate Doctor of Pharmacy Program at the University of New York at Buffalo in 1989.
After graduation, Antony started the Clinical Pharmacy Program at Laurentian Hospital in Sudbury, Ontario. Antony was the Therapeutics Course Professor for the Nurse Practitioner program for 6 years.
Antony was one of the first pharmacists in Canada to deliver clinical services in Family Physicians offices and later was the recipient of the Pharmacy Practice’s Commitment to Care Award – Best pharmacist/physician team in Canada.
Antony Gagnon has worked as the Manager of the Pharmacy Program at the Hamilton Family Health Team between 2006 and 2021. Under his leadership, the diabetes program of the Hamilton Family Health Team was the recipient of the 2010 Pharmacy Practice’s Commitment to Care Award – Best Collaborative Team in Canada.
Antony now works for Island Health in association with the Pharmacists in Primary Care Networks (PCN) Program at UBC. His main areas of clinical focus are diabetes, smoking cessation, chronic pain, and hypertension.
