I arrived in Victoria in 1979 to do a Rotating Internship at Royal Jubilee Hospital (having never been to BC in my life). I was born in Chicago (Lifelong CUBS fan as many people know), completed High School in Toronto, Undergraduate and Medical school in London Ontario.
My education was highlighted with summer jobs selling Women’s Shoes and as a Carnie (barker) on the Midway of traveling fairs. I started work on the Saanich Peninsula in 1985 (Thank you Dr. Richard Kennedy) and set up a General Practice in Sidney in 1988 over Lunn’s Bakery, where I had my practice, until joining Shoreline Medical in August 2019.
I “dabbled” in Medical Administration and Leadership at my beloved Saanich Peninsula Hospital, and have now joined Shoreline to transition to retirement later this year (2021). I am thrilled to be part of this new model of Primary Care, supported by dedicated, inspiring, and entertaining physicians and staff as I come to the end of this exceptional period of my life. I will leave (sadly, but necessarily) with an overwhelming number of enriching experiences, stories, and friends, and an unerring sense of the Strength of “Community”.
