Reports to: Clinic Manager and Medical Director

Wage: $30 – $40 per hour

Clinic Hours
: Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm (No weekends)

About the Position:

Shoreline Medical is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our primary care team! This part-time position will provide you with the opportunity to work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary healthcare setting where you will directly contribute to patient wellness. In addition to general primary care, you will support maternity practice, including assisting with baby well-checks and other maternity-related services.

We are hiring immediately and offering a competitive wage of $30 to $40 per hour, with flexible part-time hours (24 to 30 hours per week). This is a fantastic opportunity for LPNs looking to grow in a supportive environment, with no weekend shifts required!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct Patient Care: Deliver care to patients in line with clinical guidelines and scope of practice, conducting assessments and participating in care planning.
  • Chronic Disease Management: Assist with the management of chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, COPD, and CHF.
  • Maternity Support: Provide care for expectant mothers and conduct baby well-checks, including vaccinations, growth and development assessments, and parent education.
  • Clinical Procedures: Perform routine health checks (vital signs, weight monitoring), wound care, and minor clinical procedures such as cryotherapy, skin excisions, and dressing changes.
  • Medication & Immunizations: Administer medications and vaccines as delegated by the physician, ensuring accurate documentation and proper patient education.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare team members during interdisciplinary care planning.
  • Documentation: Accurately document all patient information in the EMR system and complete relevant forms (e.g., PHQ-9, GAD-7, ICBC).
  • Patient Education: Educate patients about their health conditions, treatment plans, and self-management strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a recognized Practical Nursing program.
  • Current registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in community, family practice, or primary care preferred.
  • CPR certification.
  • Demonstrated competency in immunization administration.
  • Familiarity with Med Access EMR and MSP billing is an asset.
  • Experience or interest in supporting maternity practice and baby well-checks is a bonus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
